Dr. Cue – Lesson 7 – Aiming (Cue Ball Travel Line)

By • Feb 25th, 2019 • Category: APA Videos

Lesson 7: Aiming (Cue Ball Travel Line) – Learning to shoot the cue ball in a straight line combines good preshot imagery with the knowledge of where the cue ball must end up in relation to the object ball. “Ghost ball” training, along with “straight” movements of the cue stick will produce simple, yet profound results of good aiming.

  1. Because when you want to play with your friends or something they say ‘I’m not playing him, i won’t even get a shot’.

Sometimes i have to lose on purpose just to have a game with my pals…*sigh*
    Greatness always has a flaw.

  2. iCarroller, why would you say “sometimes it’s gay to be soo good at something”?

  3. I’d actually say im a proffesional at pool. Anytime i want to play, nobody wants to play with me. Sometimes its gay to be soo good at something.

  4. eh….i been playin forever….and i understand how hard it is to show a new player how to simply make a shot…..(i can’t teach u to make shots i can only teach u to move the cue)…….i think this is the best shot making teaching films i’ve seen

  5. predator 314 ?

  6. Thank you for your response. Good luck in the future with your game.

  7. Marking the playing surface is against the rules. But as you can clearly see in the video, the playing surface is not marked. At times, I will place my stick on the playing surface to line up a shot, at no time has the area that I placed my tip ever been marked. If it was, I sure didn’t see it (which would in fact defeat the purpose of making a table).
Most people who are marking the table will usually mark the rails for kick or bank shots.

  8. is that the best you can do …DESPITE ! I just asked a simple question and not for a idiotic response like that. If there is a mark put on the table that would be cheating so if your one of those which you probably are then your response is understandable.

  9. Despite… this is pool…

    You tool

  10. awesome tip! thanks for sharing Dr. Cue!!

  11. I played professional golf and there are very specific rules on alignment to the hole. Why would that be legal because chalk could mark the felt and assist in the shot which I wouldn’t be fair. Is there a rule? Thanks for your time

  12. this is a true thing that happens! its´╗┐ not a chain letter! its kinda scary at first but it really works!! paste this message into 3 comments and press ALT F1 and your crushes name will appear on the screen!!! its soo wierd!

  13. Your wife sure is a wild and crazy gal!

  14. thanks for the help love the vids

  15. every pool player knows this principle … but it’s still a basic … much more you need to know when come to play in a league

  16. that is the clearest instruction i have ever seen. thank a lot. more power !

  17. I used to use the same technique your wife does, I added a bit tho. Once I found the aiming line, I projected the line past the object ball to the rail. I find it better to have 3 points to make a line, than only 2.

  18. think i’ll try this tonight at cash league

  19. very good technique to use thanks

  20. This is a very helpful technique. I found it helpful to see a diagram of this same principal. Just do a search for ghostball.

  21. This technique is amazing. I have used this for years and it has helped the most of anything. Some people might find it more helpful to see a diagram; which you can find online by doing a search for ghostball. The line to the ball will be more clearly defined.

  22. this was very useful! thanks

  23. Actually the concept that Mr.Cue said his wife uses that he has never seen used in a book or video I actually learned about 11 years ago on a Pool Video game for the windows 95 computer. It had video tutorials from a Professional and he showed that technique
